So apparently the lunar eclipse tonight is the first one to fall on Winter Solstice since 1638, making this the darkest night in 372 years. The eclipse starts tonight at 1:33 EST; the moon becomes fully covered for an hour starting at 2:41. There can be a “stunning,” “eerie” red shadow on the moon, and the top and bottom halves of the moon may look “dramatically different” — there’s “no way to predict” what it will look like. The NYC forecast is clear and cold.
I wish I wasn’t so tired or I would stay up to watch this.
Wanna see it soo bad
I really hope I can see it tonight.
Yes and I plan to be fast asleep.
Oo I want to try an see this tonight.
I have never been one to mark the solstices, but for some reason this year I have had a feeling of excitement about it...
I will be out with my camera for this one.
